Marketing Project Manager
I previously served as City of Refuge’s Marketing Project Manager. City of Refuge, Inc. is a 501(c)3 non-profit in Atlanta’s Westside whose mission is to help people transition out of crisis through job training, housing, health & wellness, and youth development.
My responsibilities involved planning, building, testing, deploying and monitoring effective email campaigns, managing SEO strategy to constantly improve website ranking, executing all paid digital campaigns to ensure alignment with audience and revenue goals, creating and executing a plan to grow City of Refuge’s email marketing database through acquisition and lead generation campaigns, assisting the VP of Development, and managing video/ photo content strategy to communicate impact to investors and drive engagement across all digital platforms through media produced by myself and/ or partners.
Take a look at one of the stories I had the honor of bringing to life for Jenice and her daughter Mireya.
Storytelling
Project Management
One of the biggest projects I helped manage on an annual basis was the annual report. I did this with the help of the five content creators I managed, my development team, and department leaders.
Email Marketing
Planning, composing, testing, and deploying monthly emails to recurring donors, new donors, general supporters, volunteers, and staff was a major component of the role. The average open rate was 37% and I gathered content by utilizing my photography skills and regularly inquiring with department heads. Below are examples of newsletters I previously sent.
Social Media Marketing
After starting at City of Refuge in October 2022, I took on creating content, posting, managing, and analyzing all social media marketing. In May 2023, City of Refuge merged with a partnering school, and I started an Instagram and Facebook page for the school that I also managed.
During my time there, growth has looked like the following:
6,527 to 7,241 Instagram followers
2,914 to 3,809 LinkedIn followers
11,049 to 15,009 Facebook followers thanks to a viral story of hope about one of our reentry citizens
